Over two insightful days (Feb 13-14, 2025), key stakeholders gathered at Terma Linca Resort & Spa, Thimphu, for a workshop on “Building on a Nexus Between Agroecology, Healthy Food Systems, and Implementation of Farmers’ Rights.”
Facilitated by Ms. Nori Ignacio, Executive Director of Southeast Asia Regional Initiative for Community Empowerment (SEARICE), and Mr. Ping Peria, Policy Advisor at SEARICE, the sessions were expertly moderated by Mr. Chhimi Dorji, Director of Tarayana Centre for Research and Development (TCRD). Participants from relevant departments, organizations, and institutions engaged in meaningful discussions on critical issues affecting our food systems, health, and farmer empowerment.

The Key Takeaways during the two days were insights into recent developments impacting food systems, health, and well-being, a deeper understanding of how agroecology, healthy food systems, and farmers’ rights are interconnected, and identifying relevant national policies and programs to promote this nexus.
Tarayana Foundation and SEARICE jointly organized the workshop.

A special appreciation goes to Ms. Nori, Mr. Ping, Mr. Chhimi Dorji, and all the participants for making this event successful through knowledge-sharing and dynamic discussions.
