The Bhutan ๐๐๐๐๐ Institute hosted a transformative Capacity Building Workshop on Climate-Resilient Rural Housing from April 14โ18, 2025 focusing on natural materials like hempcrete and bamboo. Led by the volunteer architect of the Foundation, Mr. Matej Vacek, 11 students from the College Of Science And Technology. immersed themselves in hands-on sessions, including timber framing, bamboo canopy construction, hempcrete block making, and plastering.
Over the course of five days, the participants didn’t just build structures, they built a wealth of knowledge and skills. This journey was a testament to the deep respect for sustainable, culturally rooted construction techniques that the Foundation instilled in the students. The Foundation is grateful to be part of the Climate Resilient Housing Program Phase 1, supported by the Karuna Foundation.
